Railway RRB ALP Exam Pattern And Syllabus 2024 :-
Information about the exam pattern and syllabus of the Railway Assistant Loco Pilot is given below. Railway RRB ALP CBT-1 Exam Pattern 2024 :-
The Exam Pattern will be as Follows:
- Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers.
- Computer Based Exam (CBT) Onine Exam.
- There will be a total of 75 questions in this written examination,
- 01 marks are allotted for each correct answer.
- The Exam Will be Based on the Subjects- Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science & General awareness.
- There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
- The Exam Time Duration of 01 Hours. (60 minutes)
- Level Of exam paper will be as per minimum educational standard.
- Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
- Minimum pass percentage for eligibility : UR & EWS – 40%, OBC (NCL) & SC – 30%, ST – 25%

Railway RRB ALP CBT-2 Exam Pattern 2024 :-
- Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-2 shall be done RRB wise and community wise as per their normalized marks and merit in CBT–1.
- Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for CBT-2 shall be limited to 15 (fifteen) times the number of vacancies notified against each RRB.
- CBT-2 shall comprise of two parts viz., Part-A and Part-B
- Computer Based Exam (CBT) Onine Exam.
- There will be a total of Part-A 100 & Part-B 75 questions.
- The Exam Will be Based on the Subjects– Part (A) Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering, General Awareness on Current Affairs & Part (B) Relevant Trade and practical knowledge.
- There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
- The Exam Time Duration of 02:30 Hours. (150 minutes)
- Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
- Minimum pass percentage for eligibility : UR & EWS – 40%, OBC (NCL) & SC – 30%, ST – 25%

Railway RRB ALP First Stage CBT (CBT-1) Syllabus 2024 :-
Mathematics :-
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
Mental Ability :-
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
General Science :-
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Science of 10th standard level.
General Awareness :-
National and International Events, History, Science and Technology
Personalities in News, Books and Authors, Geography, Award and, Honours, Art and Culture, Polity, Economy, Sports, etc.
Railway RRB ALP Second Stage CBT (CBT-2) Syllabus 2024 :-
Syllabus for Part-A :-
- Mathematics : Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning : Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement-Arguments and Assumptions etc.
- Basic Science and Engineering : The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.
Syllabus for Part-B :-
- Part-B is only a qualifying test in nature and shall have questions from the various trade syllabi as prescribed by Directorate General of Training (DGT).
- Note : Qualifying Percentage – 35% for all candidates irrespective of category/ community.
- Syllabus of Various Trades : Please check the website (https://dgt.gov.in.) of Directorate General of Training (GOI) for syllabi of different technical trades.
- Candidates with ITI/ Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from their trade.
- Degree, Diploma candidates have to select one trade from the list of trades listed below against their engineering discipline.
Railway RRB ALP Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) :-
- Candidates equal to 8 (eight) times the number of ALP vacancies for each notified community/ category viz., UR, OBC (NCL), SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM), shall be shortlisted for CBAT on the basis of their marks in Part-A of CBT-2 and application of reservation rules, provided they qualify in Part-B of CBT-2.
- Such shortlisted candidates should produce their Vision Certificate in the prescribed format (as per Annexure-VI) in original, during the CBAT, failing which they will not be permitted to appear.
- It is mandatory to clear each test battery/ section of CBAT separately, to qualify.
- The CBAT shall be only in English and Hindi and there shall be no negative marking.

- Qualifying Marks: All candidates (irrespective of community) must secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery separately to qualify in the CBAT.
- The merit list will be prepared only from amongst candidates qualifying in the CBAT. 70% weightage will be given for marks obtained in Part-A of CBT-2 and 30% weightage for score obtained in the CBAT.
