Jharkhand TET 2026 :- The official notification for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 has been released by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). This comes as great news for all candidates who have been awaiting the Jharkhand TET examination. The notification for both the Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8) levels of the Jharkhand TET has been issued; the deadline to apply is May 21, 2026, by which date all interested and eligible candidates may submit their applications.

Jharkhand TET Eligibility Criteria, Qualification :-
Qualification For Paper 1 ( Primary Level )
- Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education/4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2– year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
- Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teachers for Classes I-V, Primary Stage. Such Candidates have to mandatory undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher. OR
- Post-Graduation candidate with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Qualification For Paper 2 ( Upper Primary Level )
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- a year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed. (Special Education). OR
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure). OR
- any candidate having a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in Jharkhand TET. OR
- Post-Graduation candidate with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and 3–year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Jharkhand TET Exam Pattern 2026 :-
- The questions of all the subjects will be objective and multiple choice in nature.
- Answers will have to be marked in the prescribed place on the OMR Sheet.
- There will be No Negative calculation of marks.
There will be two levels of eligibility test exam i.e. Primary school level & Upper primary school level. Candidates can also appear in both the levels of examination.
- Primary school level for class 1 to 5 : Level–1
- Upper Primary School level for class 6 to 8 : Level-2
There will be a consolidated question paper in each level of examination, the duration of which will be as follows:-
- Primary class (1 to 5) – 02 Hour 30 Minutes
- Upper Primary Class (6 to 8) – 02 Hour 30 Minutes
- For visually impaired – 30 minutes extra time.
The questions of the Eligibility Test exam for Primary School level will be based on the syllabus of class 11 and 12 under the syllabus approved by NCERT/ CBSE and State Government. Their maximum level of difficulty will be 10+2/ Higher Secondary or equivalent.

- First, go to the home page of the official website of the Jharkhand Academic Council.
- Now, you have to click on the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (TET 2026).
- Before that, you have to read the officer’s notification and instructions.
- After checking all the details, why should the candidate click on New Registration and fill in the correct details?
- After registration, you will get the registration ID and password on your mobile number or email.
- Now, you have to click on logging in with the help of the user ID and password.
- Now you have to fill in the required details asked of you.
- Now, you upload your required document.
- After that, you must pay the application fee according to your requirements.
- Now, you have to submit the application form and take a printout.
